Industrial knives for the glass industry

ALFRED GIESSER MESSERFABRIK has extensive know-how in both hollow glass production and flat glass processing. For example, shear blades have to withstand temperatures of around 1,200 degrees Celsius when cutting the smooth gob in the production of glass bottles. The optimum fit of material, hardness and cutting geometry ensures maximum service life. ALFRED GIESSER MESSERFABRIK manufactures shear blades in various designs.

Creating Excellence

For a manufacturer of LED lamps, the ALFRED GIESSER MESSERFABRIK engineers were able to develop a cutting solution for high-precision cutting and assembly of continuous LED glassware. Until then, this was only possible with plastic material. In order to avoid glass breakage and to achieve a long service life of the blades, a two-bevel cutting geometry was developed with excellent results.
